Nicholas Kirkwood’s signature ‘Beya’ flats are designed with a distinctive sculpted metallic heel inspired by the symmetry of Art Deco architecture. A long-running signature style for the brand, Beya loafers have a sharp pointed toe, chevron print sole and handy tab at the back so they can be easily pulled on. Late 2015, a slip-on backless style called the ‘Beya mule’ was added to the collection.
2017 sees the launch of ‘Beya Bespoke’; an innovative customisation project that Kirkwood has created with Platforme – a London-based Technology Company – that provides full 3D digital customisation enabling customers to create their own bespoke shoes entirely to match their desires.
Customers are able to create their own Beya loafer or Beya Mule choosing from thousands of interesting combinations using different leathers, exotic skins and a plethora of colours. Every element of the shoe is bespoke from the vamp to the heel tab and customers will also be able to have their ‘Beya Bespoke’ monogrammed with their choice of up to 3 letters.
Each production is 3D modelled through a complex process of creating a digital sculpture that results in an extremely realistic visualisation which enables customers to interact with a model of their Beya loafer or mule to make sure they are happy with every aspect of their design. The bespoke designs are then made by hand and delivered to the customer within six weeks. Beya Bespoke is available exclusively at the Nicholas Kirkwood flagship store, 5 Mount St, W1K 3NS and online here
