24 Sèvres Exclusive Beya Loafer
To celebrate the launch of 24 Sèvres, Nicholas Kirkwood has created an exclusive design for the new global luxury fashion online retailer.
Nicholas Kirkwood has joined forces with Parisian artist NiX to create thirty exclusive hand-painted pairs of the signature Beya Loafer. Kirkwood came across NiX’s work on Instagram and was drawn to his use of colour and abstract illustrations of which are heavily influenced by Paris. This city’s aesthetic has always been at the forefront of the Nicholas Kirkwood brand. Kirkwood set a very broad brief for the design as he wanted NiX to have his own take on an iconic brand insignia – the chevron. NiX often incorporates Japanese art into his work and was instantly drawn to the chevron pattern as this reminded him of abstract ocean waves, so it was from here the design was created.
The unique capsule collection created in collaboration with Le Bon Marché consists of 77 exclusive pieces created by a host of brands hand selected by 24 Sèvres. Each collection has been produced in limited quantities, customising one of the brand’s most iconic products. Mixing the know-how and authenticity of these renowned brands with the creativity and modernity injected into fashion since 1852 by Le Bon Marché, the launch of the 24 Sèvres exclusive capsule will be a key rendezvous for global customers on 24sevres.com and at the Parisian department store.
24 Sèvres have launched a social media campaign around the capsule collection which has taken the form of a map of Paris highlighting 24 iconic places. The 24 Sèvres Artistic Direction team have created a collage for the Nicholas Kirkwood exclusive Beya loafer linking it to the Jardin du Palais Royal, the iconic Parisian garden home to the Buren’s art installation which reminded the team of the pattern NiX created.
