Ocean Day Capsule
The 8th of June marks Ocean Day and this year, we’ve been looking at the great big blue from a different perspective, examining the beauty of its natural resources and how we can integrate them into our collections.

Made from conscious materials

PYRATEX® cosmetic VI is a new fabric made of crushed, ground seaweed and eucalyptus wood cellulose. It is a 100% organic fiber, free of toxins, completely biodegradable, carbon neutral, and OEKO-Tex® 100 certified, with amino acids, vitamins and minerals that are beneficial for the skin.

Developed by PYRATEX®, the seaweed used is harvested in a selective sustainable process from the fjords in Iceland, in locations with no waste or pollution from ship traffic. The process is gentle, using blades that do not cause damage, and only remove the part of the seaweed that regenerates.

Partnership with eXXpedition
eXXpedition is a Community Interest Company and not-for-profit organisation that runs pioneering all-female sailing research expeditions at sea and virtually voyages on land to investigate the causes of and solutions to ocean plastic pollution. We’re delighted to announce that we will be supporting eXXpedition’s mission through our 1% for the Planet donation in 2021.

Recognising our responsibility towards the preservation of oceans, we will also be supporting eXXpedition, a non-profit taking all-female crews on transformative journeys at sea to understand the causes of and solution to the plastic pollution problem.Supporting organisations such as eXXpedition is a part of or commitment to donate 1% of our yearly revenue to environmental charities. We have made this commitment in January of this year when we became a member of 1% for the Planet.

Key aims of eXXpedition are to support solutions science by contributing to world-class scientific studies that are urgently needed to inform up-stream solutions and close the loop on plastic waste on land.

To shift perceptions by using thier platform to inform and educate so that people can better understand the real problem of micro-plastics and use that to shape actions and solutions.
